Title: Corrective Action for Code of Conduct Violation

Christmas Stars expects all cast members and volunteers to follow reasonable rules of conduct necessary to ensure a safe and professional environment. Behavior that is not conducive to providing a safe and professional environment will be addressed by the Christmas Stars Steering Committee using the following procedure as a guide.
A. Corrective Action: The corrective action taken by the Steering Committee of Christmas Stars will depend on the nature of the behavior in question. The Steering Committee will act at its discretion based on each individual situation, taking into consideration the seriousness of the issue, along with the facts and circumstances surrounding the situation.
Corrective action may include any or all of the following.
· Two members of the Christmas Stars Steering Committee will meet with the cast member/volunteer about the inappropriate behavior and counsel the individual on expected behavior.
· Two members of the Christmas Stars Steering Committee along with the production coordinator and/or director will meet with the cast member/volunteer about the inappropriate behavior and counsel the individual on expected behavior.
· Dismissal will result because of a serious offense OR when the cast member/volunteer fails to respond appropriately to counseling by Christmas Stars Steering Committee.
· A quorum of the Christmas Stars Steering Committee is needed to take action if conduct of a member of the Christmas Stars Production is in question.
B. Responsibilities
· The Steering Committee’s responsibility in the corrective action process is to create an opportunity for the cast member/volunteer to be successful.
· The cast member/volunteer’s responsibility is to take action to change their behavior which meets Christmas Stars expectations.
C. Grounds for Immediate Discharge: Following are examples of conduct that calls for immediate dismissal from the production. This list is not inclusive, but is meant as a guide.
· Verbal or physical abuse toward fellow cast members, directors, crew members, volunteers;
· Making false or malicious statements concerning cast members, directors, crew members, volunteers;
· Harassment;
· Theft;
· Other behavior that jeopardizes a safe and professional environment
